London Design Festival has arrived: from 14th to 23 th September, the streets of London will allow to experience an unforgettable design journey.
We highlight the work of Gio Ponti, maestro of Novecento design, who comes to the V&A in a unique installation called “Molteni&C’s” collection for the public to see and use. Each piece is curated in a free exhibition that shows us the design master’s process, and draws us into his world, allowing us to see very closely his legacy.
Visitants are allowed to come between 10.00 and- 17.45, daily. The installation is located at Seminar Room 2, Sackler Centre, Cromweel Road. This event coincides with the London Design Festival temporary installation, Living alla Ponti.
Besides his work, the exhibition will also include a visual narrative of Ponti’s life told through family photographs and letters and meant to pay homage to the enduring relevance and modernity of his aesthetic.
As a matter of fact, to coincide with the exhibition Vivere alla Ponti, Molteni&C hosts a talk, featuring notable speakers including Stephen Bayley, to discuss the relevance of Ponti’s work. The talk will feature video interviews with Ponti’s heirs and documentary footage of the Italian maestro.
