Northern Light Fair : is it really only a hymn to the nordic design?
Northern Light Fair is approaching and between 5th and 9th the biggest names of Nordic lighting business will be represented in the largest lighting fair of the North of Europe.
It is common to think that Nordic design is privileged comparing to the rest of brands since Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark design responsibles stop to see the lighting novelties and highlight the designs of Sweden. Indeed, we must understand that the nation as organizing identity tends to defend its design interests and to show the best of what is done in the country.
As a matter of fact, the 320 square meter exhibition area started to be focused on Swedish design but in the recent years it contains the reference of different cultures, traditions colored by the emotions and expression through different light cultural design perspectives.
Although its clear tendance to the nationalism, there are some international brands represented that deserve our attention. We introduce you some of the highlights, (nordic and not so nordic).

Well, indeed the nordic design has its highlight, altough international brands are also well represented.
I really appreciated the presence of brands like Moooi and Delightfull. As well as artek.
Undoubtedly that Scandinavian design will be at most at the Northen Light Fair. However, I am exciting to find out what other brands from the South of Europe and from other countries will present.
