Can you guess who’s the unseen hero of all the hit movies ever? If you answered the Director or the extras, I’m sorry you are so wrong.
The unseen hero has a far more less popular job and a kind of inanimate object vibe… yep if you guess (but I bet you didn’t) they are the lamps: those pieces of decor can set the right mood or confuse the audience.

The set decorator has the most important choice of all and maybe it didn’t even notice. Choosing the right lighting piece for a set can make or break a movie: putting a vintage piece in a not so vintage set could be so off-putting as the actor love scene without chemistry. Ew.
When we talk about lighting up the movie set we have selected 5 scene in which the lamps seemed to be crucial. Here’s a list of 5 iconic movies scene and its lamps:
1. Pulp Fiction

Can you imagine this scene without those amazing neon lights in the background setting the right mood for a dinner by telling anyone that at this place where Uma Turman and John Travolta are dancing …there’s ice cream and cocktails. No, right? Bet that Tarantino thought about it.
2. Dirty Dancing

This one is for the girls. The dim pink lighting sets the right mood for a heat-breaker scene and it was the essential thing to turning this scene into a ending that will last forever in our hearts. * yes I have watched the movie 1538 times*
3. Casablanca

Before the 007 movies there was Casablanca. Never before did a movie exude such coolness and never again it happened. The vintage lamps in the movie are there only to give the right decor vibe and the combine perfectly the vintage classic lines with a more oriental feeling.
4. Amélie

Every teenage girl swear’s by Amelie as if it was the bible. The movie has a beautiful use of color and lighting – always dimmed down and never too opulent and overwhelming – giving it a personality, so that when you see a screenshot you know that it is from you favorite ..Amelie.
5. Casino Royale

Casino Royale brought back James Bond. And it brought back the casino ambiances where you know that’s what is up next is no good an you need to fill the room with pieces that are capable of catching your eye without stealing the scene. The lamps chosen for the scene are opulent but with lines are closer to a mid modern century design.
So when you are watching a movie, tv, series on you pc, the lesson is don’t, under absolutely any circumstances, just don’t overlook the chandeliers.
