MAISON et OBJET ideal was to gather in Paris the most talented players in the world of the Home in order to attract professionals from around the world in search of excellence, innovation and emerging trends. The September edition is not only going to be good, it’s going to be better.

Between 4th and 8th September, the parisian show will enhance designers’ work and challenge your design view.
For MAISON&OBJET PARIS, two designers were selected as designer of the year: Dorothée Meilichzon and Nendo.
An industrial designer, Dorothée trained at Strate College Designers and at the Rhode Island School of Design where she studied toy design. She worked in Paris for five years then decided, aged just 27, to set up her own design studio, carried by the momentum of her first project, the interior design for the Prescription Cocktail Club in Paris (Saint-Germain-des-Près).
Oki Sato, born in 1977 in Toronto, Canada, studied architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo.
He obtained his Master’s degree in 2002. In the same year, the nendo studio was born in Tokyo.
Now he has taken up the international stage, with offices in Tokyo and Milan.
Nendo, meaning ‘modelling clay’, expresses his desire of having certain flexibility and the ability to reinvent oneself. The designer takes his inspiration from Japanese uncluttered style to create a language of his time.
Furthermore, this year, Maison et Objet’s theme will be ‘make’. Makers and artisans redefine the rules of an alter-design.The genius of the hand and the technological advances mark out the evolution of a world in the process of again.
