Mood Board: Silver Linings Playbook for a Scandinavian Home
Silver is one of those colors which will most likely never go out of style and it will always be used again and again. And that is simply amazing because we can keep going back to it and the interiors and pieces still look great, modern and contemporary. It is especially used in Scandinavian interiors and more minimalist design pieces. That was one of the reasons DelightFULL chose Pantone’s Silver C to be today’s color. And after having talked to them a little bit, we knew we could create a stunning mood board and a little silver linings playbook for you to achieve a relaxing Scandinavian home.
Our first suggestion is for you to take a risk and use different shades of silver all across your home decor. Silver and grays, in general, are very strong colors in the Scandinavian interior design scene, so you would want to make sure you include it in your home.
2. Paint your walls
You can go for a stronger shade of gray for your walls, especially if you are already preparing for the Winter months. For the rest of the room decor, you can go with lighter colors and play a little bit with plants, because not only do they look stunning, but they are also a way of bringing oxygen into your home. Just make sure to aerate your room during the night, and you will be fine!
3. Go full scandinavian
With this, we mean that you can – and should – use very light shades of gray and mix them with whites and light wooden elements. If you want, you can go with an all-white room decor and then add just a few silver details for the final touch.
FURNITURE PIECES FOR A SCANDINAVIAN HOME
Scandinavian homes require simple lighting designs, with more attention to quality than grandness. We have chosen these two suspension lamps by DelightFULL to reflect that need in Scandinavian design. Sinatra suspension lamp, on the left, is made of brass with a nickel finish and aluminum shades painted glossy gray. On the right, there’s Clark, a smaller piece, also made of brass with a stunning nickel finish.
And every living room needs an accent chair to be complete. And even though Scandinavian interiors don’t have the need of very intricate and complex pieces, this armchair by Essential Home gives us that feeling of simplicity, with a hint of luxury given by the gold plated stand.
MOOD BOARD INSPIRATION!
To complete our ‘playbook’, we have put together a little mood board for you to add to your Pinterest favorites. Hopefully, this will help you create the home of your dreams and the best silver home decor you can think of!
