The incredible details in the movie are astounding and the director itself claims that without the whole production team, the movie wouldn’t have so much impact has it does. As the movie is set in 1983 Italy, nothing was left unscathed “The movie was set in July 1983, and there had been a big election in May 1983, so there were some faded political billboards. […] The house’s real garden was nothing, zero. But in the book, it is important. We hired a landscape designer and created this orchard, and suddenly the movie became filled with the ripeness of summer.”, claims Luca Guadagnino.

Notwithstanding, the custom design was something to get the perfect marriage between fiction and realism, the custom designer Giulia Piersanti created the perfect combo. Having worked with the director in another acclaimed movie “I Am Love” the designer claims that most of the pieces were made from scratch.
