Nomade Atelier is a name that you sure want to keep it on mind! Continue scrolling to understand why!
If you search for the most renowned design studios of Mexico, we guarantee you that Nomade Atelier will be on that list! Why? Mexico, as you know, has a great heritage. Inspired by this rich culture, Nomade design studio creates design ideas by manufacturing custom objetcts and furniture for all types of projects – residential, public and commercial, and also museum installations!
The design studio was created in 2012 by Diana Quintero Vellejo and Ismael Bachri. The atelier works with design ideas or custom items and furnitures, and it’s where the love for crafstmanship emerges! Nomade counts with a team of architects and artisans that “lov being creative together”. It is curious to see that Ismael travelled from France to the busy country of Mexico to persue his dream of becoming a renowned designer – and he achieved his goal! Diana also fulfilled most of her childhood dreams thanks to her hard working.
Nomade Atelier uses the best materials from Mexico and knows exactly how to create a handmade piece that has beauty and functionality. “It is one thing that we are still learning, we are not stuck to our social networks because we consider that it takes a lot of time away from what we really care about doing, so we consider ourselves a bit old school in this sense”, explained the Nomade Atelier team. The typical client of Nomade Atelier is a person that already has a culture of art and design, a person that appreciates history and heritage of different cultures, and of course, wants the best quality materials.
“When we collaborate with another brand or producer, it is important to know that it is a joint work, where each one puts the best of themselves.”
The team is inspired by several different figures, however to Ismael there is someone that excels “Jean Prouvé is one of the most inspiring names in the industry thanks to his research in the science of materials, which allowed the development of new technologies, forms, and concepts to create innovative industrial products“.
For Diana, Clara Porset is definitely the one “She developed beautiful and comfortable pieces using traditional craftsmanship in an environment that sought then to identify and reformulate aesthetically, industrially, socially and culturally”, explained Diana Vallejo.
One of their main goals is to elevate design and craftsmanship “We love to think that Italy continues being the leader in terms of craftsmanship since they have a very old knowledge of all the processes of production of objects of very high quality and their capacity to reinvent these artisan processes from generation to generation in a highly globalized world.” Normade Atelier believes that the fast design is fadding, and natural and recycled material will come back.
