Darwin, Bjarke\u2019s little son, said his first word this year and, it coudn\u2019t be more ironic! Agua,<\/em>\u00a0or \u201cwater\u201d in his mother\u2019s native Spanish! Darwin\u2019s parents are both architects with unique ideas, and this one was probably one of the best projects<\/a><\/em><\/strong> they have done together! In fact, it\u2019s even more special than anything else they did before, because it\u2019s the crib of the family, where they\u2019ll spend unique and memorable moments! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could you imagine a regular day with these experiences \u201cthe sight of ducks swimming past porthole windows, the thrill of friends arriving by kayak, and the constant, calming churn of the tides\u2014that\u2019s just an average day for young Darwin\u201d?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Danish architect<\/a><\/em><\/strong> bought the boat in 2016, and decided to fully renovate it. \u201cIt has the past, present, and future of Copenhagen all in one glance,\u201d<\/em> he says of the views. \u201cLook east and you can see the sun rising. Look west and you can see the sun setting over the queen\u2019s palace.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually, layering plenty of light is a feature imported from the <\/em><\/strong>mid-century modern design<\/em><\/strong>,<\/a> which provides both natural and artificial light<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. The two combined are able to emphasize volumes and shapes, adding depth and contrast to the room. Near the sea, it would be impossible not to take advantge of fresh air and a little bit of sunshine, isn\u2019t that so?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
