The newest skyscraper of China\u2019s financial capital, Beijing, Leeza Soho Tower<\/strong>, will be finished next year, 2018. Until then, our eyes will be on Zaha Hadid Architects<\/strong><\/em>, which were tasked with the design and conceptualization of what will be set to break records as the world\u2019s largest atrium! Notable for being one of the last designs Hadid touched before her passing last spring, we can\u2019t wait to see the final result!<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThe atrium space has been carefully sculpted to offer panoramic views<\/strong> and the use of natural daylight<\/em>,\u201d says Satoshi Ohashi, director of Zaha Hadid Architects in China. \u201cThe sound will be controlled and engineered so that the building\u2019s mechanical equipment, ventilation system, and elevators\/elevator shafts that have a chimney effect are protected with insulation to reduce noise levels<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d, he adds.

\nLeeza Soho Tower will offer more than one million square feet<\/strong> of office and residential space.There\u2019s a subway tunnel that intersects the site, which the Tower mirrors with its two distinct volumes separated by a full-height atrium. Construction is already mid-way and Leeza Soho Tower has already 20 of its 46 floors!

\nThe double-glass-walled atrium<\/strong> \u201ctwists\u201d as it ascends, creating a unique view of the building\u2019s two halves that offers staggering views of the surrounding city.

\nThis was Zaha Hadid\u2019s latest project before she passed, almost a year ago. It\u2019ll definitely be a staggering example of how the architect changed conceptions and left her mark on the architecture world. Zaha Hadid Architects prioritized sustainability with features like a 3D BIM energy management system, high-efficiency pumps and fans, and low-flow water fixtures throughout.
