The 15th edition of the London Design Festival<\/em><\/strong> will take place across London\u00a0<\/strong>from 16 to 24 of September<\/strong>. Some of the installations\u00a0for the event have been already announced\u00a0and from a \u201cbuilding block castle\u201d by Camille Walala\u00a0to\u00a0an undulating tapestry by Ross Lovegrove, 400 events are being prepares to take over the city this year!<\/p>\n

\nThe installation program\u00a0was unveiled last week during a press conference at the V&A. Was announced the key Landmark, of this year, that will be created by the\u00a0textile designer Camille Walala and will be the festival\u2019s largest installation.

\nThe installation, named Villa Walala, is described by the festival as a \u201cbuilding block castle\u201d. With the typical design touch of\u00a0Walala\u2019s bold, colourful style, the building\u00a0will be made up of giant soft shapes each patterned with a digital print.

\nIn the V&A museum\u2019s tapestry gallery,\u00a0will be erected the\u00a0Ross Lovegrove<\/a>\u2018s Transmission installation\u00a0based on the surrounding works.\u00a0Created in collaboration with Alcantara<\/a>, an Italian company that manufactures artificial suede, the designer has created an undulating structure that is meant to be touched.

\n\"DelightFULL<\/a>
\n\u201cThe installation responds to the rich scenes of wealth and aristocratic fashion depicted in the 15th-century tapestries at the V&A,\u201d said the organizers.\u00a0\u201cGold and silver threads create an ornamental pattern of over 2,000,000 flecks running along the edge of the sculpture, standing out brightly against the rest of the installation.\u201d

\nPalestinian architects, Elias and Yousef Anastas, designed one of the more politically fuelled works,\u00a0whose While We Wait installation is a tower made from a stone latticework. The work is based on the Cremisan Valley, a green area located on the seam line between the West Bank and Jerusalem, and aims to explore the \u201ccultural claim of nature in Palestine\u201d.

\n\u201cAs one of the few remaining green spaces in the Palestinian landscape, the work navigates the issues surrounding the construction of a wall in the middle of the valley, which separated links between a monastery and the local community,\u201d said the designers.<\/p>\n
