And why to give\u00a0this style such a strong name?\u00a0The guilty was\u00a0Le Corbusier<\/strong> (the renowned swiss-french architect) that\u00a0described his choice of material as\u00a0b\u00e9ton brut<\/em> (raw concrete).\u00a0<\/span>After this, the\u00a0British architectural critic Reyner Banham<\/strong> adapted the term \u2018brutalism\u2019<\/em> to identify this emerging style.\u00a0<\/span>Concrete and bricks are the main materials used by the creators of the Brutalism and you will be able to see numerous examples around the world but mainly in Britain, France, Germany, Japan, United States, Canada, Brazil, the Philippines, Israel and Australia. The thing is,\u00a0there can hardly be a more controversial \u2013 or misunderstood \u2013 architectural movement than Brutalism.<\/div>\n
