\nTOP INTERIOR DESIGNERS | Patrick Jouin<\/strong><\/em> is a designer whose creativity finds an expression in industrial design for the decorative arts. With the top manufacturers, Cassina, Kartell, Alessi, Puiforcat, JC Decaux or Fermob, and for exceptional projects, Patrick found a place in the landscape of international design where only few know how to evolve with both ease and strength as he does.
\n\u00a0<\/strong>Biography: the man before the myth<\/strong>
\n\u00a0<\/strong>Patrick Jouin was born in Nantes, France, in 1967. After graduating from the \u00c9cole Nationale de la Cr\u00e9ation Industrielle (ENSCI) in 1992, he started to design for Thomson multimedia under the Art Direction of Philippe Starck.
\nThe designer founded his own agency in 1998 in the 11th arrondissement in Paris and in 1999 he met Alain Ducasse with whom\u00a0 he collaborated designing many restaurants such as the Alain Ducasse au \u201cPlaza Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e\u201d, \u201cBe boulangerie-epicerie\u201d, in Paris, and Mix New York restaurant.

\nJouin intend to revise the industrial culture selecting mass-industrial machinery forms \u2013 blast furnaces, turbines, chimney stacks, moulds, forges \u2013 and\u00a0 integrating them into the world of luxury.
\nThe Most Iconic Projects:<\/strong>
\n\u00a0Mandarin oriental hotel<\/strong>
\nThe result of a collaboration between paris based jouin manku studio and patrick jouin ID, the \u2018mandarin oriental hotel\u2018 located in paris, france has recently opened to the public. Sited within the heart of the city, this venue provides two restaurants, a bar, cake shop, and gardens of diverse atmospheres. Vegetated spaces lead guests into a light filled dining space scented with camellias to blend the interior and exterior boundary. The deliberate surfacing of columns and circulation areas with wood veneer evokes imagery of garden trees and pathways. A distinctive fabrication for this project, the table and chairs\u2019 legs mimic wooded plantings growing from the earth.
\nHotel Plaza Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e<\/strong>
\nA new look\u00a0 has been created for the bar and restaurant at the Plaza Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e in Paris by the Jouin Manku design studio. Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku worked in a way similar to the great fashion designers by surrounding themselves with the most talented craftspeople to make every detail of the bar and restaurant a part of the vision.
\nThe only element retained from the restaurant\u2019s former design is the ceiling chandelier which is now reflected in the polished stainless steel domes on the floor.
