MID CENTURY MODERN FURNITURE: 2016 COLOR OF THE YEAR TIPS
| MID CENTURY MODERN FURNITURE |
It’s that time of year.
Annually Pantone declares a particular color “Color of the Year”. Twice a year the company hosts, in a European capital, a secret meeting of representatives from various nations’ color standards groups.
After two days of presentations and debate, they choose a color for the following year.
“A softer take on color for 2016: For the first time, the blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenityare chosen as the PANTONE Color of the Year. As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.
The prevalent combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity also challenges traditional perceptions of color association and will also challenge several business like fashion or furniture design.” After that announcement, the Norwegian photographer Siren Lauvdal created a selection of amazing photographies with a Bohemian Scandinavian vibe, based of the choices of Pantone for 2016.
The wall in Serenity color transmits a feeling of calmness and relaxation. The simple touch of the plants, makes this room a more intimate place.
