Today, we take you on a tour of an amazing and inspiring Los Angeles apartment.
Inspired by Architectural Digest’s article, we want to show a fantastic, exclusive and full of personality L.A. apartment, which is own by Adam Hunter, a famous American interior designer.
With a client roster that includes Neil Patrick Harris, skincare maven Kate Somerville, and the famous actress Christina Hendricks, the designer was made for success in his life. The importance of having an amazing place to rest and to be with friends, the place we call home, is undebatable, so when a unit became available in Los Angeles’s iconic Shoreham Towers building, it felt like fate. “It was a total Eat, Pray, Love moment,” says the Broadway star turned decorator.
It is a place full of energy, but energy does not decorate homes. Untouched since the late 60’s, the apartment was not very welcoming the way the owner wanted, so, the design team and the contractor removed every interior wall in the 1,000-square-foot space to create a blank canvas.
The white-oak flooring was made and came from France and installed in a classic chevron pattern that extends to the master bath and balconies, where it is replicated in tile. The ceiling was dropped roughly five inches throughout to achieve, in Hunter’s words, a “halo” effect using acrylic lenses that lie flush with the drywall instead of recessed lighting; recessed curtains frame the panoramic views of the city below.
In the kitchen, the designer cantilevered the island so that it appears to be floating, a month-long process that involved soldering the marble into the wall.
The bedroom has a sophisticated and elegant vibe, with amazing and colorful decor details that give this space some extra personality.
The bathroom with white marble details and full of light emanates a feeling of piece and calmness.
Also in this apartment, there is a cozy and beautiful corner, such as the one above, perfect to enjoy a cup of tea with friends.
