Hotel André Latin: belle époque inspired hotel designed by Malapert
This is an incredible Hotel Design project and its owners are the Hoteliers Fabien and Guillaume Sodano. Hotel André Latin takes advantage of its privileged location in the famous “Latin Quarter” in the 5th district of Paris. Fabien and Guillaume (born in Paris) have Italian roots, so when they had this desire to update their hotel in 2015, they decided to dedicate it to their paternal grandfather, Andrea Sodano. Andrea Sodano was born in Italy in 1890 and he arrived in Paris at the age of 18. The hotel belongs to the family only since 1989 and this date is now going to be paired with the name of the hotel. Fraternal co-owners Fabien and Guillaume Sodano have created Hotel André Latin‘s interior with the help of the young Parisian interior architect Michael Malapert inspired by their grandfather’s taste and personality.
The 68-room hotel (inspired by the belle époque era, but with contemporary elements subtly blend) has gained a new look after months of extensive renovation that perfectly matches the 19th century
“The transformation is immediately evident upon entering the premises through the new cocktail bar on the ground floor. Pretty much destined to become a popular destination in its own right, it pairs a crisp style with a homey atmosphere, featuring a palette of warm natural materials, fabrics and colors. A bar with counter stools, seating arrangements with comfy sofas, all designed with a cool mid-century twist, and last but not least, an outdoor terrace, seat a total of 34 guests. Decorative mirrors and beautifully designed light fixtures add a playful touch of glam to the aesthetic.” We can read here.
Here you have some of those details that create a sense of authenticity: floors of wooden planks texture, brass lamps, furniture, upholstered in wool fabric the Kvadrat, and marble tables.
In the first floor, there’s a public area, in addition to a bar comprising reception and common room. Now let’s step up to the rooms: mid-century furniture, Gubi and DelightFULL‘s lighting designs and beds with curly headboards.
The bathrooms were designed thinking about a classic Parisian interior using white tiles. SEE ALSO: A MID-CENTURY OFFICE IN RUSSIA
