DISCOVER MID-CENTURY RIVIERA HOTEL IN PALM SPRINGS’ UPDATED LOOK!
The iconic RivieraHotel in Palm Springs that was once the getaway of Hollywood stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and the Rat Pack, was now completely updated to receive new guests and lovers of mid-century design. The result was a stunning nostalgic design filled with a new vibe and lots of colors.
The Riviera was a project by architect Irwin Shuman, who thought the resort in order to mirror the luxurious hotels of Las Vegas, in the decade of the 1950s. However, this glamorous hotel was nestled in Palm Springs and was, for many years the getaway for stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Marilyn Monroe, you name it… Now it’s been completely refurbished and the result is a continuously glamorous place, filled with stunning mid-century pieces.
The new Riviera Hotel should reflect the style of contemporary Palm Springs — a playful mix of eclectic and bohemian design, at the same time it’d make us feel nostalgic with its vibrant colors and midcentury furniture. And the designers who ultimately achieved that were the Miami-based Rose Ink Workshop.
In the Landing Lobby Bar, visitors are immediately enveloped in a refreshing rush of green, which mirrors the oasis vibe The Riviera is trying to achieve, with lush palm leaf pillows and mint walls. A touch of retro style appears in zig-zag carpets and mod chandeliers.
