IN CASE YOU MISSED: ICFF NEW YORK FIRST DAY: ALL THE HIGHLIGHTS!
Contradicting what we have just stated, we’ll start by pointing a trend that is not new, but timeless. Mid-century modern design. From rich golden hues to lavishing suede upholstery, this design current will undoubtedly surpass time. DelightFULL, Essential Home, Covet Lounge and Lightmaker Studio are proving to be the best in this style.
To this year’s ICFF, DelightFULL presents the wall (now available in several layers) and table lamps from the Matheny family; the pendant lamp from the Turner family; and the new torchiere version of the already iconic Sinatra floor lamp. Essential Home presents, among other pieces, the dining chair Collins – boasting a deep hue of burgundy.
Toronto-based architectural lighting design firm, Lightmaker Studio, presents its latest design, “the Boom Chandelier – a subversion of the traditional chandelier, the Boom Chandelier has an exuberant and unrestrained form.”
Right next to the mid-century modern design timelessness, the most prominent trend is the organically shaped lighting. Brands like arturo alvarez, Kenneth Cobonpue, Vita, Ameico, Molo, David Trubridge, represent the best in this new trend.
Already included in the Top 10 Lighting Brands at ICFF by the blog Vintage Industrial Style, Arturo Álvarez’s new concept of artistic lighting exhibits at ICFF Gallery, the section of the renowned high-end luxury furniture fair specialised in collectable design. After succeeding at Euroluce, where Álvarez surprised the public and the critics, the designer was invited to participate in this curated space.

Concept lighting brand molo presents cloud mast, “a new, large, luminous canopy of cloud-like light forms floating overhead, yet supported by the floor. Designed by Stephanie Forsythe + Todd MacAllen, cloud mast is a work of sculpture, a large mobile balancing elements of earth and sky to shape intimate space within a larger room and provide a delightful source of light.”
Combining aesthetics, simplicity and functionality, and infusing it with thoughtful craftsmanship and environmental care, Vita presents at this year’s ICFF, Eos Collection. “Drawing its force and mesmerising beauty from the earth tones of the Nordic landscape, Eos are made from all-natural goose feathers. These unique lampshades give a soft, warm light and add a sophisticated and elegant touch to any interior décor.”
