The event is organized by the city’s Center for Architecture and there’s plenty of events and activities visitors can enjoy. One of the main attractions is the Building of the Day walking tours, including Bronx River House, Renzo Piano’s Lenfest Center for Arts at Columbia University and the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in Morningside Heights.
If there’s a building you’ve always wanted to visit but is usually not accessible to the public, this is your chance! On the weekend of 14 and 15 October, Open House New York will provide a few lucky people the opportunity to step inside some buildings closed to the general public.
Also, a series of architecture firms will open their doors for visitors to take a glimpse of the working process as well as take part in workshops, talks and presentations.
Other activities will include architectural pumpkin carving competition and the Great Architectural Bake-off.
