When you first take a look at the building, the first thing that catches your attention is the stairs, resembling Lego building blocks – of course – that allow you to climb up the exteriors and reach the top patios. The new visitor center for Lego fans is located in the company’s hometown, Billund, in the proximity of Legoland theme park, so it’s basically a Lego dreamland!
“Lego House is a literal manifestation of the infinite possibilities of the Lego brick – one that embodies the notion of systematic creativity and allows children of all ages countless opportunities to create their own worlds and to inhabit them through play,” explained Ingels.
Passersby can’t see what the top of the building hides, but it’s open to the public, while the Lego exhibition inside the building is only for paying visitors.
Just like the terraces, the galleries feature color-coded pieces that aim to represent the different aspects of a child’s learning process.
After you explore the different galleries, you can sit back, relax and enjoy a meal in the restaurant, served in Lego brick-shaped boxes by robots.
