Maison et Objet Theme 2018 is all about digital times and about the well-honed consumer of the current generation. The truth is nowadays the social networks do the spadework, clearing the ground and only leaving objects of desire.
Agence NellyRodi were the chosen ones to design the Inspirations Space and the Café-Bookstore around the SHOW-ROOM concept, that was inspired by a variety of social, industry and marketing topics. This concept is going to be discussed at L’Espace Conférences, where you can find out in more detail all about the context of lifestyle trends.
Maison et Objet had an interview with the designer and scenographer of the Inspirations Forum and Bookshop-café for January 2018 – Vincent Grégoire. He explained that the concept of this Inspirations Theme was inspired by the new generation of hyper-connected and hyperinformed consumers. He also highlights the fact that consumers are becoming trendsetters themselves and that “it is no longer the product that makes the consumer, but the consumer that makes the product.”

In a few words, what is the message of this exhibition?
“The Inspirations Space is an invitation to question the status quo and take a stand, to overcome ennui. It is a chance to set yourself apart, to voice your opinion, to love and hate, just like on social networks. The retail business is in urgent need of re-enchantment. A shop is not merely a place where goods are stored for sale. The advent of digital technologies, for better or worse, is pushing retail businesses to come to life, to make their shops feel more like home.”
