Exploding Shed House
One more proof that less is more. This property in Perth is a project by David Weir Architect and it’s an experiment in urban infill.
Maroubra House
This small post-war home in the south-eastern suburbs of Sydney is the result of a more flexible house that also incorporates elements that would allow for future expansion, as the family changes over time.
Beach and Forest House
The client requested a space “always forest, always beach, always lighthouse”. And that was what Troppo Architects did! They’ve created a small, cave-like beach shack at Wategos Beach in northern New South Wales.
Humble House
A comfortable and joyous place made by Coy Yiontis Architect. A striking, steeply pitched skillion roof defines the house’s form and achieves generous ceiling volumes and light-filled living areas internally.
Concrete House
“A kind of a cake”, says Matt Gibson Architecture and Design. With two different levels but internally “becomes a journey of contrasting feelings, the experiential flux of compression and release.”
Upsilon House
MCK Architects produced a slender house designer for “simple, rugged, no-fuss living.”. Even having lots of problems in the beginning of the project, this new home replaces a dilapidated cottage on a narrow block in Sydney’s beachside.
Rose Bay House
Being inspired by the amazing tree in the garden, the house is defined as “whimsical and captivating” giving a gesture that recreates the sense of walking through a forest.
Camp Hill Extension
Nielsen Workshop and Morgan Jenkins Architecture instead of building into the undercroft space, as is typically done, the extension slips past the original house like an “escaped undercroft,” preserving the existing language of the street.
Marrickville Courtyard House
This David Boyle Architect on this new house project “feels huge but sits on a relatively small site.”. From the front porch “everything about this visually modest and spiritually generous house is extraordinary, and everything makes sense.”
Villa Marittima
This visual striking project “a bare form, a simple idea, a villa.” is an intriguing building that was a labor of love for owner and architect Robin Williams of Robin Williams Architect.
