Inspirations Blog: Alberto, you have experience in the interior design, decoration and window dressing fields, therefore, do you think this gives you a certain advantage in the process of creating your projects?

Alberto: More than a certain advantage, my experience provides the necessary tools to achieve the right result. All my experience, both in window dressing and decoration, allows to obtain a vision of the space from a global point of view, fundamental in each interior design project.

IB: You work with the most diverse public and your way of interpreting the decoration convinces everyone, from the most purists to the most dreamy. What is the secret to please such different profiles?

A: I think the secret is knowing how to listen. The interior designer’s work implies a great deal of empathy with the client to be able to interpret and represent their dreams in a life project (their home, their business …). It is when we put ourselves in the client’s shoes, when we know their concerns, that we can surprise them by creating exactly the interior design space they need.

IB: You are known for studying fashion trends and applying the best of each texture, color and tone in your creations. How do you combine functionality and aesthetics in your designs?

A: Functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand. For me, aesthetics is fundamental in my projects, but that part would be meaningless without the whole set finally being functional. I think that is precisely one of the most fascinating things about this profession: making what is useful and necessary aesthetically very beautiful and attractive, that it surprises and that it generates emotions.

IB: Besides residential projects, commercial areas are also part of your portfolio. The Canbún restaurant aims to be a pleasant and modern oasis, where visitors can experience unforgettable sensations in contact with nature, especially the olive grove. Do you think that the environments and your decoration influence the mood of the people?

A: Design creates emotions. The ultimate goal of a good project is to generate in the target audience a feeling of well-being and comfort, of pleasant surprise, of pleasant pleasure …

IB: What cannot be missing in a space, according to Alberto Aranda?

A: In my projects, the wood worked by artisans plays a fundamental role.
It is usually seasoned with colored pieces, which give it a casual touch, I always add a pinch of madness and fun.

IB: What is the main interior design trend for next year?

A: We are in a stage of creative explosion. Crafts will play an essential role in the upcoming years, pieces rescued from our grandparents and parents (jugs, amphorae, basins …) combined with any furniture will be part of our day to day.

IB: Do you have a project that is your favorite?

A: My favorite project is always a new challenge. The enthusiasm with which I undertake each new project is passionate, always in search of that perfect project.

IB: What would you like to do as an interior designer that you haven’t done yet?

A: I love furniture design. One of my short-term illusions is to create a
auxiliary furniture collection.

IB: Could you tell us a bit more about the space you presented at Casa Decor Madrid?

A: I have presented a suite with a living area and an office with a playful part and a more formal one. With a base of noble materials I have represented the serious and mature character, on the other hand, an antique carousel piece gives the daring touch of color and fun. I wanted to show that duality of character that leads us to keep alive the child that we all carry inside, with the most mature facet of our personality (Peter Pan Syndrome).
