An Urban Style Interior Design in Mexico | The concept of Casa Lomas Altas (or High Hills House), placed on the City of Mexico, was to mix up the urban and the green.
Elizabeth Gómez Coello and Jorge Medina, from Muro Rojo Arquitectura, created spaces with big doors and lots of plants and other nature elements. From the inside, you can appreciate the nature, being in a house with such an urban interior design than could perfectly be placed in the middle of Manhattan.
The garage and the service area are in the ground floor and the first floor is just some stairs away. In this first floor there’s the living room, dining room, kitchen, the family room with a terrace and a garden, a studio and a playroom. And at the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and a tv room.

But the best is yet to come: at the roof, lays a gym and a spa. Tcharan!.
In this interior design were used 3 types of rocks: Calacatta marble, Cuarcita and Pietra D’Avola, as well as Copacabana granit (used in the guest’s bathroom). This materials contrast with the european wallnut also used in the family room (installed by Fine Floors) as well as with the oak flooring.
The façade is made of concrete, exactly as each urban and modern house’s façade should be made of. In the frontage we can also find some modern shutters by Hunter Douglas.
This amazing urban style home design was possible thanks to this balance that Elizabeth Gómez Coello and Jorge Medina were able to develop, between the different textures and colors. We really love this amazing urban design, that proves how is possible to include nature everywhere.
The light design was developed by Luz y Forma. What this company has done here was to distribute irregularly many kinds of lighting, transforming the house into a cozy place.
A large part of the furniture design was made by Muro Rojo Arquitectura and mixed up with other classic furniture pieces. In the living room, the custom-made furniture contrasts with a couple Three Legged Shell Chairs by Hans Wegner, a stool by Gatone Rinaldi for Poltrona Frau and two lamps by DelightFULL (Duke Floor and Coltrane Suspension).
The pillows designed by Dr. Lakra (ordered to Centro Oaxaca) and the black fireplace by Colectivo 1050 grados, are two of our favorite details in this urban style interior design.
Do you love this Urban Style Interior Design project as much as we do? We hope so. 🙂
